I'm Alex Marques — a Kinesiology professional with a Bachelor's degree from the University of Toronto and a Master's in Integrative Bioscience in Kinesiology from Western University. My background spans 4+ years of personal training across clinical and commercial settings, university-level teaching in anatomy and sport injury, and a deep specialisation in rehabilitation and injury management.

That combination — graduate-level science and real-world coaching — is what sets this apart. I don't just write programs. I understand how injuries happen, how the body compensates, and how to build you back stronger without flaring things up. If you've had surgery or a recent acute injury, yes — I'll ask for confirmation that you're cleared for exercise by your doctor or physio. For chronic injuries or general pain, we assess together during the intake and I work within safe, evidence-based limits.
Common cases include lower back pain, knee injuries (ACL, meniscus, patella), shoulder issues (rotator cuff, labrum), hip problems, post-surgical rehab, and chronic pain conditions. If you're unsure, apply and we'll discuss on the intake call.
Programs are adapted to your setup — home gym, commercial gym, or minimal equipment. You'll tell me what you have access to and we build around it.
Physios assess and treat injury. I bridge the gap between discharge and your goals — building strength, fitness, and performance once you're cleared. I often work alongside physios, not instead of them.
Most clients notice meaningful reduction in pain and improved confidence within 3–6 weeks. Goal-specific results — muscle gain, fat loss, performance — follow from there. It depends on your starting point, consistency, and injury history.
